If you want to know about more about Neuro Design then you're in the right place. As well as information on the company, you will find some of the work we've done for our customers and some technical information about this site.
Our approach is to design from the ground up, producing websites to meet each customer's unique business requirements. We believe that using generic templates, or using cheap graphics and fonts is a false economy and the ultimate loser is your business.
All the elements we produce or select — source code, graphic images, photography, colour schemes, fonts and textual content — are designed to come together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle to create a website that is both pleasing to the eye and helps to make your business stand out from the competition.
Your website is your business. The site design informs visitors' opinion of your business before they have even read a word. It doesn't matter what great products or services you have, if your website looks unprofessional, the chances are that people won't stick around to find out.
Prior to Neuro Design, my career was based in the I.T. departments of some of the leading U.K. bluechip organisations. During this period I had roles that encompassed...
I experienced a wide variety of systems...from small applications to multi-dimensional reporting systems via map based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and large corporate accounting systems. Working on these systems gave me a broad exposure to mainframe, client-server and web-based computer architectures.
In my capacity as a systems development team manager, I was responsible for both internal and contract staff. I also employed temporary staff and third-party development staff from some of the major I.T. and management consultancies to meet peak demand and specialist skills requirements.
Most recently, I project managed a post-merger systems integration project and a global business change project. Both of these were for a corporate finance department. I am also a qualified PRINCE 2 Practitioner.
So as well as the specific web design and development skills you are probably looking for, I bring with me a wealth of experience that crosses development, management and project management disciplines.
As you may have gathered by now, I strongly believe that web standards are the future of web development. This site is coded entirely in XHTML 1.0 Strict with all layout and presentation handled with CSS. Dynamic server side elements are written in PHP.
Utilising web standards delivers real benefits...
I have tried to ensure that the markup on this site is as semantically correct as possible. The textual content is available to all browsers, however old, and also to devices such as mobile phones and PDAs. Whether or not you see the full design depends upon the browser software that you're using.
If things don't look quite right to you, the chances are you're using an old non-standards compliant browser. I would recommend that you install a modern standards compliant browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Safari.
Even Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7 has made great strides towards full standards compliance, although they still have ground to make to catch up with the others.
The site was developed using the Macromedia Studio 8 suite of applications...
Although Dreamweaver is capable of automatically generating the code behind the scenes, we use the code view exclusively to ensure that our markup stays lean and semantically correct.
We developed this site for Hampton Hill based recording studio, Quit Dreaming. Key features of the site are an animated Flash banner on the home page, an audio player to showcase studio customers, PayPal integration and a variety of web forms.
We're proud to be associated with the Goderich Waldorf School in Sierra Leone. The school offers free education to children affected by civil war in the region. After being contacted by the charity responsible for raising funds and awareness in the U.K., we were pleased to offer our services free of charge to support this worthy cause.
